This fast design, while benefitting its use in low light, also affords notable control over depth of field for selective focus applications. The optical design features one hybrid aspherical element, which helps to reduce spherical aberrations and distortion in order to realize high sharpness and clarity. Individual elements also feature an Ultra Multi-Coating, which suppresses flare and ghosting for greater contrast and color accuracy. Complementing the optical design is an Ultrasonic Dual Linear motor, which offers fast and quiet autofocus performance. Additionally, a rounded nine-blade diaphragm contributes to pleasing bokeh quality.
