Designed for the outstanding optical performance required for experienced birders, hunters, and outdoor enthusiasts, GPO USA's black 8x42 Passion HD Binoculars use individual extra low-dispersion (ED) glass lenses that are laminated together into a single unit to minimize internal light reflection and chromatic aberration � which enhances resolution, contrast, and color rendition beyond what ED glass does in a traditional lens design.
Added to this Double HD lens configuration, the Passion HD combines phase-corrected BAK4 Schmidt-Pechan prisms, and anti-reflective fully multi-coated optics that work together to further enhance the optical properties and produce clear and bright images with accurate color representation across the entire wide field of view without distortion, or spherical or chromatic aberrations. When combined with its ultra-long eye relief and comfortable exit pupil, users will be presented with a panoramic and immersive observational experience in the field, at the range, or in the blind; and when out on the water the common disorientation experienced when glassing in rolling seas is greatly minimized.
All exterior lens surfaces are treated with GPO's proprietary PASSIONdrop hydrophobic coatings, which repel water, dust, oil, and dirt to make them smudge repellent, help them stay cleaner longer, and easier to clean. Its sturdy magnesium alloy chassis helps to keep the weight down without sacrificing strength, while its micro-bridge design frees up more space on the optical tubes for the user's hands to improve grip strength and stability. The binoculars are wrapped in a protective rubber armor that provides a non-slip grip even in cold and wet weather. Each optical tube is nitrogen-filled and O-ring sealed to be waterproof and resistant to internal fogging when moving through extreme temperature changes or environmental conditions.
